providing advice and mentoring on church health and growth
Healthy Church Matters is an advisory and mentoring service for clergy and churches offered by the Rev'd Canon Martin Saxby. Martin has been involved in leading churches that have experienced growth for over 30 years and more recently was the Healthy Churches Development Mentor for the Anglican Diocese of Coventry.
In this role he was responsible for working with clergy and laity in developing the health of over 200 churches. He established and led a process to enable churches across the diocese to monitor and improve their health using the principles and tools of Natural Church Development. Mentoring was a key aspect of the process and he recruited and trained a team of mentors, both volunteers and paid staff.
Martin is passionate about the local church as the Body Christ and loves to work with others as they seek to help the
church become all that God wants her to be. Healthy Church Matters is focused on helping the local church through promoting the qualitative aspects of church life as the necessary foundation for numerical growth.
During his time in parochial ministry Martin led local churches in a variety of urban and rural settings that experienced growth in quality and quantity, applying similar principles.
